49 North Mountain Resort Groundbreaking of New Development

CHEWELAH, WA., June 28, 2016 – 49° North Mountain Resort, Chewelah Basin Ski Corporation(CBSC) and Alpine Development Group (ADG) would like you to join us in the official ground breaking event for the Sunrise Basin Alpine Glades Phase I residential development.

We are opening a new chapter in our 80 year history with a residential mountain experience at 49° North Mountain Resort, located in eastern Washington approximately 50 miles north of Spokane, WA. The 2016-2017 winter season pass sale is going on now, offering the best multiple resort access and value in the Pacific Northwest ski industry on one season pass.

Upgrades and modernizing at 49° North Mountain Resort will include:

  • Sunrise Basin Base Area Transformation - The entire base of Chair 5 Sunrise Quad will be transformed. Over the last several weeks we started site preparation and are looking forward to beginning infrastructure construction for snowmaking, skiways, bridges, private high speed fiber optic network, sewer and water systems, and a paved Nelson Creek Road (2 miles).

  • 2016 Residential Structures - Includes a single family home, 8-plex Alpine Condo unit which is sold out, and a 5-plex private residence Glades townhouse with units available.

  • The new Alpine Glades condo is scheduled for Certificates of Occupancy by November or December

  • Continued Expansion of Snowmaking - Significant improvements will be made to the snowmaking infrastructure including the addition of water storage, new energy-efficient snowmaking guns and pumps to increase the snowmaking capacity and allow the resort to open more terrain earlier in the season and create the ability to recover terrain quickly during the season.

The 50 acre Alpine Glades development is the first phase of the Sunrise Basin master-planned community. The Sunrise Basin Development which is located on the 320 acre private deeded land is permitted to one day include a total of up to 2,200 residential units; 800 hotel rooms; and 360,000 square feet of commercial space. The start of these improvements will make the resort a premier destination for individuals to pursue outdoor recreational activities.
